Hairball stain removal?

My cat has an active digestive system…yea. Any tips on how to remove that dark stain that gets in the carpet even after you’ve picked up the big stuff when your cat has a hairball?

A spray carpet cleaner like Woolite’s heavy traffic foam. Or as crazy as it sounds–Fume Free oven cleaner. It’s how I got the blood out of the carpet after the cat had her kittens on my beige carpet…

good products to get rid of carpet stains?

my carpet isnt the greatest so i was curious what products can get rid of old stains
10pts for best answer

I have found that Carpet cleaners don’t always work and most of the products they sell for carpet stain removal cost a fortune and don’t remove the stain without using at least half of the bottle. Even then the stain still shows. That is what I used to say before I stumbled across this product called Folex. It is sold at Home Depot in the cleaning section. All you do is spray 1-2 squirts on the stain, then rub it with your finger and poof it’s gone. I mean oil stains, blood stains, urine stains, any spill you can think of. I swear by it. It costs about $7.00 for around a 32oz. bottle. Try it and you will be amazed with the results. Good luck!

Have you any experience with chemical carpet cleaners?

A professional company is coming to the house next week to clean the carpets. They use a dry tech type product where they sprinkle this chemical into the carpet, scrub in them vacuum up. There is some but very minimal water involved. That’s a plus to us because we’ve used the steamers and shampooers before with bad results. I just still can’t wrap my brain around how some powder is going to really clean the carpet…

Hi, this type of cleaning product, is corn husks impregnated with a cleaning solution and is a very good method. The company will pre vacuum your carpet and as you say brush them into your carpet, leave them there for a while, then vacuum them out. Your carpet will be dry in 30 mins. Obviously you are worried with the term ‘chemical’; ask for a safety data sheet so you know what is being used. Ask if they do hot water extraction (steam cleaning) but it is not, it is hot water. There are many eco solutions that can be used that are made from plants and are very safe. If you type the word "Host" into your browser, you will be able to read about the dry cleaning method. Hope this helps. I am an IICRC certified cleaner.

Are Steamer Carpet Cleaners really steamers?

A lot of carpet cleaners are called steam cleaners or steamers but reading their literature there is no mention of how steam is produced or used.
It would seem a misuse of the nomenclature.

i

Its not technically steam, usually you add hot water to it, it sprays or mists the solution onto the carpet and sucks it back out. Warm water is better than cold water since it mixes with the detergent better and loosens up the dirt.

But yes its not technically steam, good luck getting hundreds of manufactureres to rename something that’s been around 70 years

How bad is it to walk on a carpet after steam cleaning it with a hoover steamvac?

I just steam cleaned the carpet for my mom and I walked with moderately clean sneakers on the freshly steam-vac’ed carpet.

they tell you not to walk on carpets until dry providing you did not leave any footprints it will probably be ok
