Yes. Do not waste your time on do-it-yourself cleaning products, or even the Rug Doctor that you can rent at your local supermarket.

Have a company liek Stanley Steemer come in and do it for you…. quick, affordable, and works. Even still, know that pet urine is most likely down in the carpet pad. Even steam cleaning won’t remove that. What you’ll need to do it pull up your carpet (it’s not difficult), and remove the padding. If you can cut a certain portion of it and remove and clean it yourself, do that. If not, go buy a new carpet pad. It isn’t that expensive… you should be able to replace a bedroom for about $30. I guarantee you that as soon as you replace the pad, the smell will be gone, provided the carpet has been cleaned.

For the small, in-between cleanings of accidents, etc., try Nature’s Miracle, available at any pet store. It works great.

URINE stain ….The only thing that worked for me was Borax found in the laundry section of stores…pore a heaping amount on the stain if it’s still wet if not – wet the stain with water then pore on the Borax let it set there till it’s dry. It pulls out the wet, stain, and odor!!!

I have a son who used to pee in his room. The pee in the carpet made the room smell horrible. I did not have the money to replace it so I looked on yahoo answers and found that vinegar works and it is cheap.

I put straight vinegar in my carpet cleaner and washed the carpet. The smell of vinegar was there for a few days but only a slight smell.

The smell of pee was gone.

"Nature’s Miracle"

I bought it at the pet store. You spray it on the carpet until it’s saturated, and as the solution dried it pulls the odor out of the carpet.

You may have to treat the spot a few times, and it stinks to high heaven (like urine) as it dries, but once the odor is gone, the pet will not gravitate back to that spot.

My cat had several "loads" on my brand-new Berber carpet. I used Woolite Oxy Deep spray on the stains (but first I had to remove the poop). I sprayed it on pretty good on the stain, waited a few minutes, and then with a brush I began to brush over the wet area, and almost all of the stain came out, and I didn't smell anything, though cat pee is worse than cat poop. Good luck!

an enzymatic cleaner called "simple solution" it works great. There another one called "miracle" something. It’s pretty good too. Get it at Pet Smart or Pet Co in the US.

I use 409 Carpet spot and stain remover and Resolve carpet cleaner. They both say they are good for removing pet stains. They seem to remove most of the odor, but they do have a OK smell to them. They are both forms spray.

hydrogen peroxide. it will not bleach your carpet and it will eat the natural bacteria.poor it on your carpet, let it sit, stomp on the stain with a towel. repeat until the peroxide does not bubble any more. also remember to lift your carpet and get the padding also (if you can). after the peroxide has been lifted and dried (about a day) sprinkle baking soda on the area and let it sit for a while and then vacuum it up. very last, after all is dry and vacuumed, spray area heavily with lysol. this will prevent any future messes.
