The piano is an upright model and nearly 50 years old. I am concerned about water/steam damaging the wood, plus I wonder how the carpet that is underneath the heavy furniture will look if it does not get cleaned along with the rest of the room.

I’ve been cleaning carpet professionally for over 15 years, haven’t damaged a piano yet. As for moving furniture, it varies from company to company, however most reputable companies will move furniture. Ask the cleaners what they will move, before they start. I don’t move funiture that is excessiveley heavy, fragile, big screen tvs, stuff like that. If you move them however I have no problem with cleaning under them. The carpet under the bigger furniture does not get dirty, the furniture is on it, its ussally not a problem to not clean under them

Everything else works on the steam cleaner its a bisel and no I cant find the owners manual. Everything else works on it, expect for when you hold down the sprayer, to put the mix of water and fluid on the floor nothing comes out, of the steam cleaner or any of the tools. Any else go thru this? Or know some good advice? Thank you.

I had the same problem with my Bissell carpet cleaner. I replaced the entire top handle (where the trigger is located on mine) and it worked. Apparently, the triggers suck on a lot of the Bissells, and need to be replaced. I think the repair cost me about $25.00.

We are considering buying a steam carpet cleaner instead of a vacuum, since we live in the country and our carpets get quite dirty? Does anyone know if this will work? I have read you should vacuum first and then steam clean. But we don’t want to buy both and we don’t have a lot of storage space. Thank you for any answers.

I don’t know about you, but I use a vacuum for a lot more than cleaning carpets. What about cobwebs, spider webs, bare floors, general dusting? I’d recommend getting a really good vacuum cleaner with a carpet beater brush, a canister one and not an upright since canisters are usually much more powerful, and it might help keep the carpets clean enough that you won’t have to shampoo them often. If they really get ridiculously dirty in spite of a good vacuum, it’s probably worth it to hire a pro once in a while. Their machinery does a much better job than what you can do yourself. You should be able to get a pretty good deal on a decent used very good quality vacuum at one of those stores that sells and services vacuums.

If my couch had fleas, would steam cleaning my couch kill them?
There is only one problem with chemicals..i have a 4 month old daughter..and i my dr. actually told me that i would only need an exterminator if they were really really bad and so far ive only found a couple. If there are any other working alternatives to chemicalizing my tiny apartment please let me know.

Spray your house with an igr (insect growth regular). Anything else is a waste of money.
