My carpet has several stains from oil/grease from an office chair that was on the carpet, there are about 50 little round black stains and am wondering if the rug doctor cleaning machines would work to get these stains out of my carpet? because I’m not sure if these machines are just for general cleaning of carpets or if they get stains out?

What is the best cleaning method to clean a silk expensive rug i think steam cleaning is going to be too rough for this kind of delicate fiber what do you suggest.

Steam cleaning a carpet with a Rug Doctor?
I just cleaned my carpet with a Rug Doctor. How soon am I supposed to see a difference? The people that lived here before us left the carpet a big mess, so I don’t know if the carpet is just too bad, or if I did something wrong.

There is the sponge backing underneath the carpet itself to consider. If it is dirty, no amount of carpet cleaning is going to really be helpful. Also consider the smell. If the carpet still smells bad after cleaning it, it’s because the dirt infiltrated the bottom layers and the backing. Some stains do have a way of coming back and you’ll just have to live with it or get a new carpet or buy a rug to cover it up.

Hoover’s printed material that came with the machine says that only Hoover products should be used because of potential electrical hazards. Hoover cleaning solutions are very expensive and I suspect that they may want to sell cleaning solution without any competition. Anyone have an answer?

i did years ago.. Worked fine.. I think its largely the same stuff.
