My Good News First

Can I make Rug Doctor cleaning solution? What can I add to kill fleas?

I’m renting a Rug Doctor later today. There was a mention somewhere about making your own cleaning solution instead of buying it from the store. What would I use to make it?

Also, is there something I can add to kill fleas in the carpet? Or is deep cleaning the rug good enough?

I would buy their solution because they have something in theirs to keep it from being too sudsy. This is what I would do. I would go to WalMart or somewhere and get some of those flea bombs and put them in my house right before I am to clean my carpet. That way you will have the whole house done and then you can clean the carpet. But remember that you may need to do the fleas two times because the eggs will not be killed and will hatch out later. So take that into account.

Good luck. Oh and for the best smell ever go to your local Sam’s Club and buy a jug of OdaBan and spray some around in your house. It smells great!!!! : )

Why do SOME men think that sweeping dirt etc. in a corner or under a rug is cleaning?

Or moving junk to a closet instead of putting it away, etc.

I DO KNOW that some women are the same, its not only men. But I have noticed almost every man I have ever known "cleans" in similar ways. I dont mean any offence at all, I am just honestly curious. Thanks

Most men think along the lines of "out of sight. out of mind". At least I know I do but I don’t clean like that.

I am looking for a cleaning solution for rug cleaning machines that I can make at home.?

I make my own for the steam cleaner I bought using a capful of clothes washing detergent (liquid), 1/4 orange pine-sol and water. I also sometimes use Lysol cleaner instead of pine-sol, in the brown bottle, because it kills germs, and we have pets. Put the two ingredients into a gallon of water. And to make it smell really good, I sometimes just use Febreeze, a regular sized spray bottle poured into a gallon of water. That’s to freshen up the carpet.

What is meant by Area rug cleaning?

I need the definitions and how it is useful for the carpet cleaning service method..Please suggest me a good idea..

We will examine the condition of your rug, looking for signs of fading, discoloration, stains, wear, pre-existing damage, color instability and odors. I will assess the clean ability of each rug…Based on all these factors we have to take necessary steps to remove the rug…Unless we didn’t remove the rug it spoils the entire carpet….

Area Rug Cleaning?

I have an approx. 4′x6′ long-shag, white area rug that’s in need of a good cleaning. Besides doing it professionally, is there an easy way to clean it at home?

Put it in the driveway. With a garden hose wash it, use some liquid Tide and a broom. Since the rug is white, I’d use some bleach too. Rinse well, let dry outside draped on a fence. I do it all the time and the rugs come out like new.

4 x 6 is small enough to soak in the bathtub. Let it soak with Tide and bleach in the water, drain and rinse well. Hang over the shower curtain rod. Be sure the rod can support the weight and that the rug drips into the tub or you’ll have a flood on the floor.
