What’s the best thing to use to get out carpet stains?

I have many wine, coffee, and God knows what else kinds of stains on my beige carpet (I have clumsy family members and two children under 5). Paying to get the carpet cleaned did little good in getting rid of any of them.

What should I do? Thanks!!

If you had your carpet professionally cleaned by a member of the IICRC and your carpet still looks bad, it’s probably permanently stained. If it was cleaned, and then spots reappeared, they didn’t clean it very well. I worked as a carpet cleaner for 10 years and I saw it all. Coffee and wine are some of the hardest stains to get out, if not impossible.Remember, you get what you pay for as far as carpet cleaning goes.

If you try to clean it yourself, you need to extract the carpet. You cant just put on a bunch of cleaners and soap and expect your stains to be gone. They don’t just float out the window! Call a professional to get an opinion (free) they will tell you if it can be saved.

I’m a big fan of hardwood floors.

what is the best product or chemical to remove carpet stains?

I have off white carpet and it is realy stained (two kids and a dog) what should i use to remove the stains,I have a carpet cleaner and ive used bleach and water in it and it doesnt realy remove the stains, what can i use in the carpet cleaner???

When I was in high school I actually did a science project on this subject…it was a long time ago, but I tested 409, some expensive carpet cleaner, and soap and water. You know what worked best on all types of stains…soap and water!

I also think that buying a steam cleaner for high traffic areas is a wise investment with two kids and a dog.

How to get red dirt stains out of a wool carpet?

We have fairly old red dirt stains on our light blue wool carpet, and I am wondering what I can use to get these out with.
I don’t want to go out and buy any chemicals, so please no advertisments for chemicals that you can buy at the supermarket.
I really want something natural, like bicarb soda, does that work on stubborn carpet stains?
Please, any advice would be great.
Thanks.

Mix up a little laundry detergent with hot water. Dip a floor mop in it and wring out as much as you can by hand. Use it to scrub the carpet with, Rinse it out often to pick up the dirt instead of spreading it around.

Carpet Stains and the best carpet cleaner?

I have your average cheap apartment carpeting, and I am wondering what is the best home remedy or the best carpet cleaner. The stains consist of built up dirt in walkways, pet stains, and paint stains, which had been washed right after it happened, the remaining stain is just what was left over from pouring water on it to sop it up.
OH, and the best deodorizer as well.

By far the best and cheapest rug cleaner ever:
1 Tsp. of White Vinegar
1/2 Tsp. of Ammonia
3 Tbsp. of Dish Soap
3/4 Cup of water

Mix together and put in a foaming dispenser (most hand soaps are now foamers) or just whisk up. Using ONLY the foam, use a damp sponge on the stain. It removes new and set in stains. Seriously, got this from a friend of mine and used it on her carpets to clean some stains before she moved out of her place. Absolutely amazing!!!
